The Chicago College Advising Corps aims to increase the number of low-income, first generation, underrepresented high school students who not only enroll into higher education institutions but also graduate successfully from those institutions. Chicago CAC places 10 recent college graduates in 10 different high schools across the City of Chicago to support students and families as they navigate the college admissions process. Advisers work one-on-one with students and their families to assist with college searches, college applications, FAFSA completion, scholarship search, SAT/ACT completion and college visits. Advisers work closely with school staff, parents, and students to help promote a college going culture within the school and community. Chicago CAC advisers believe that every student should have college a post-secondary option or at least have a plan post-graduation.
